Dear Sociotechnical Systems (STS) enthusiast,

As you might have heard during the last STS Round Table meeting in Trondheim, Saxion is hosting a two-day socio-technical field visit on Thursday, February 19^th, 2026, and Friday, February 20^th, 2026. We warmly invite you to join us on this exciting and informative adventure across one of the most STS-dense regions of the Netherlands. In this email, we provide all the practical information and the opportunity to reserve a spot for yourself. We have limited availability. Please complete the registration form below as soon as possible.

When: Thursday, February 19th, 2026, and Friday, February 20th, 2026.

Where: Day 1 Enschede (and surroundings), Day 2 Enschede (start) and Apeldoorn (finish)

Costs: expenses marked as complementary are paid for by Saxion. Hotel costs and the group dinner are not included. We will not charge an event fee.

Preliminary program:

Day 1 - Enschede (and surroundings)

Interactive ’Twents Social-Technical Design’ workshop: examples and use cases
Walking tour across the Saxion campus, including the SMART Mechtronics lab
Lunch
Interactive Field visits at STS collaboration partners (complementary)
Group dinner in Enschede City Centre (not covered)

Day 2 - Apeldoorn

Bus ride to Apeldoorn Technohub (complementary*)
STS master classes by leading scholars
STS book review meeting** and lunch (complementary)
Close of the field visit
Return ride to Enschede (complementary*)

* You can also organize your own transport to/from Apeldoorn (please inform using the registration form)
